Write Club events

Write Club happens on the second Tuesday of every month in Pōneke/Wellington or Te Awa Kairangi Ki Tai/Lower Hutt.

(Although just to mix things up a bit, in May we’re holding a special pop-up on the first Tuesday of the month.)

The next one is …

Tuesday 6th May
5:30pm - 6:30pm

Iris Store + Salon
78a Victoria Street
Wellington

$15 entry fee (includes tea and snacks on arrival)

Limited places available.

And then the one after that is …

Regular Write Club

Tuesday 13th May
6:30pm - 8pm

Abandoned Taproom Petone
38 Fitzherbert Street
Petone, Lower Hutt

$15 entry fee (includes an alcoholic or non-alocholic drink on arrival)

Limited places available.

What will happen at Write Club?

Step 1: Arrive at the venue at 6:30pm (or the advertised start time if it’s a pop-up night), present your ticket, and pick up your entry drink.

Step 2: Pull up a pew somewhere in the designated area. If you’ve brought a laptop, make sure it’s fully charged or sit somewhere with a handy power point. You’re welcome to order food and drinks and eat while you work (in fact, we encourage it so we can #supportlocal), as long as you do it quietly.

Step 3: Start writing. Remember: the only rule is no talking.

Step 4. Finish writing at 8pm (we’ll subtly say ‘ding’ or something so you know the allocated time is over).

Step 5: Stick around afterwards for a bevvie or to chat if you’d like or head home to bed - it’s totally up to you.

And that’s it! There’ll be no welcomes, no intros, no sharing, no feedback, just dedicated time and space to put pen/finger to page/keyboard and turn some of those glorious words in your head into actual sentences.
